The responses to the tweet highlight the challenges: zoning laws, family dynamics, divorce realities, and the difficulties of co-living. Yet many echo the sentiment — we've traded tight-knit support networks for individualism and mobility, and it's left many feeling isolated, especially parents juggling careers, childcare, and uncertain futures.

As someone who's built a life and business across borders (from Wall Street to China to Thailand), raised a family here in Chiang Mai, and watched our Global From Anywhere community evolve, this hits home. Our kids are growing up fast, and like many in our network, we're thinking about long-term roots, education, community, and creating spaces where relationships thrive alongside ambitious work.

Global From Anywhere Village: Our Version of "Bringing Back the Village"

This isn't a new idea for us. Years ago, we outlined the Global From Asia Village (now evolving under Global From Anywhere) — a physical + digital "Ecommerce City" designed exactly for this kind of intentional living.

Not forced co-living, but optional proximity and support — meals together when wanted, playdates for kids, mentorship for businesses, and backup during travel or challenges.
